Creeps? Scammers? Shill Bidders? Or is it that Insane?
So today was my big research day, I try to do it once a week but honestly i have only done it right before I re-opened my store and a week after opening my store. I am determined to learn and you will probably see many changes until I get it just right. But anyway, that is off track. I decided to research research research today and boy howdie NOW do i have some questions!
1) Is it fact or fiction that sellers OUTSIDE the US of A Show up in italics? And if this is indeed fact, then HOW IN THE WORLD (no pun intended) can sellers in china and hong kong FLOOD ebay.com with auctions that are not in italics, price down WAY low like i swear i saw stuff for below 1.00 that I KNOW cost more than that and THEN charge 28.00 in shipping? Are these people lying about their location? I mean, they can’t possibly be making money if they are selling at 1.00 these kinds of goods and the ACTUAL shipping cost be 28.00. So since it is not italicized and it is a fact that they are supposed to be, does that mean they are actually listing from the US but putting China/Hong Kong just to be able to ship for a few bucks and keep the rest for profit?
2) Another question i have is how come I am seeing powersellers with feedback over the 100000 (kid you not) putting penny auctions up and then when you go to bid and are indeed outbid like normal that when you actually look at who is bidding the starting bid is 2.01 instead of a penny and no matter how much you bid that person is still outbidding you…WHICH MEANS:
the BUYER saw a Penny Auction and STARTED their bid at 2.01 with a MAX bid of lets say 20.00…WHY IN THE WORLD (yes i know) would you start your lowest bid at 2.01 IF IT WERE ACTUALLY POSSIBLE to get it at lets say a whole 5 cents…why wouldn’t you bid five cents and then put your max at 20.00 right? why cheat yourself of the possibilty of actually GETTING it for under 2.00??
3) Why are outside the US sellers able to charge 20-50 dollars to ship a small item that i knows does not even come close to one lb? Is it ACTUALLY that much to ship an item that weighs oh probably a good 10 onces give or take a little to ship to China and Hong Kong???
4) Why is it that Super HIGH up powersellers, not talking the bronze etc, can get away with having 300 sells a month and fifty of those being negs and neutrals and still have a 99% score and get top search results?
5) WHAT IN THE WORLD IS GOING ON AROUND HERE?! i have seen some crazy stuff today and all i keep thinking is WTF?!
